Archive Zebra Rock sphere from the workshop — sphere number 18 in the series. Cut to 90mm and hand-polished in the studio. This piece carries strong contrast between the deep red ironstone and the pale cream silica bands — bold and consistent across the full 360 degrees of the sphere.
Zebra Rock is one of Australia's rarest ornamental stones, found only in a small area of the East Kimberley in Western Australia. Its distinctive banding formed approximately 600 million years ago through a process of periodic iron oxide diffusion through fine silica sediment — each band a record of ancient chemical rhythms laid down before complex life existed on Earth.
Sourced from the Kimberley region of Western Australia. See the current sphere collection.
