Shipping, Pricing & Turnaround
Free shipping anywhere in Australia. $25 flat-rate to the rest of the world. Every parcel is insured, tracked, and packed by hand in my Sydney workshop before it leaves.
I have been posting opals and gemstones around the world for more than twenty-five years. The packing matters as much as the stone itself — a perfectly sourced Lightning Ridge black opal is of no use to anyone if it arrives poorly protected. Here is exactly how it works.
Posting within Australia — Free
Every Australian order ships free. I use Australia Post Registered or a door-to-door courier depending on the value and size of the piece. Both are fully insured to the full value of your purchase, both carry a tracking number, and most require a signature on delivery so your stone is never left unattended.
Posting internationally — $25 flat rate
One flat $25 rate covers shipping to anywhere in the world, with Australia Post and Express Courier International. Every international parcel is registered and trackable end-to-end. For larger orders (5kg and above), please get in touch first — I will quote a sharper rate based on the destination.
Turnaround
Orders are processed within two business days. You will receive a follow-up email within that window confirming approximate travel time, or asking any questions I need answered before posting. If anything will take longer — a setting being completed, a piece coming in from a Sydney jeweller — you will hear from me before the two days are up.
Delivery times
Once a parcel leaves Sydney, travel time depends on the destination and the local carrier at the other end. Australian capital-city deliveries typically arrive within two to five business days. International deliveries vary by country and may occasionally be held at customs — that is outside my control, but I will assist you in tracking and resolving any delay.
Express options
If you need a piece urgently — a birthday, an anniversary, a departure date — please leave a note on your order. In most cases I can expedite at no additional cost. Where express shipping carries a genuine surcharge, I will quote it on a case-by-case basis before any charge is applied.
Packaging
Every piece is packed by hand. Loose stones are wrapped individually, finished jewellery is presented in its gift box, and the contents are cushioned and braced inside the outer parcel. Outer labels are deliberately discreet — no descriptions of the contents, nothing that draws attention in transit. Long-standing practice in this trade, for obvious reasons.
Insurance
Every parcel is insured against loss or damage from the moment it leaves me until it is signed for. The one exception: if the delivery address provided is incorrect, incomplete, or the recipient has moved, the cost of the parcel and any re-shipping falls to the buyer. Please double-check your address at checkout.
Pricing
All prices are listed in AUD (Australian Dollars), with display currency adjusted to your country where Shopify allows. Anything showing $0 (POA — Price On Application) is available on enquiry — typically a higher-value piece I prefer to discuss with you directly rather than list a fixed price for. Please get in touch and we can have that conversation.
Returns
Return shipping is the customer's responsibility, but the wider point is this: I want you genuinely satisfied with what you have purchased. If something is not right, please contact me before returning the piece and we will agree on the cleanest way to resolve it. See my personal guarantee for the full position.
