This charoite pendant is set in an open, marquise-shaped sterling silver frame — a sculptural wire design that lets light move around the stone rather than boxing it in. At its centre sits an asymmetric oval cabochon of charoite, its surface a dense swirl of violet and lilac fibres that catch the light differently with every turn. The open frame keeps the piece light to wear despite its size, and the silver chain lets the pendant sit naturally at the centre of the collarbone. About Charoite

Charoite is a rare silicate mineral found in only one place on Earth — a small deposit along the Chara River in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), Siberia, Russia. Its signature look comes from a dense, fibrous structure that catches the light in swirling bands, producing a silky, almost chatoyant lustre across the stone's surface. Colour ranges from soft lilac through to deep violet-purple, often threaded with dark veins of aegirine or paler patches of feldspar. Because the fibrous pattern forms naturally and randomly, no two pieces of charoite look alike.

Caring for Your Charoite

Charoite sits at around 5 to 6 on the Mohs hardness scale — softer than quartz and considerably softer than sapphire or diamond, so it's best treated as a stone for occasional wear rather than daily knocks. Clean gently with a soft, dry or barely damp cloth; avoid ultrasonic and steam cleaners, harsh chemicals, and extended soaking in water. Store it separately from harder stones that could scratch its surface.
