Boulder Opal specimen

Boulder opal known as a Yowah nut opal, very good quality opal inside and covered with ironstone rock.
Boulder Opal is mined in vast, often isolated areas in western parts of Queensland, Australia.
Characteristic of Boulder Opal is the brown ironstone host rock. When this opal is cut, the natural host rock is left on the back of the stone. This opal can display the full spectrum of colours and patterns, very often showing unique and unrepeatable
“pictures” like paintings.
This beautiful pair came from South West Queensland, from mines at Yowah.
