Australian Zebra Rock is an extraordinary natural gemstone estimated to be around 600 million years old, originating from the Precambrian period. This exceptionally rare rock is found exclusively in the East Kimberley region of Western Australia, making it highly sought after by collectors.
Zebra Rock is composed of fine-grained siliceous argillite and is easily recognized by its distinctive red bands or spots, which contrast beautifully against a pale background. Although its exact formation remains uncertain, geologists believe the patterns developed from sedimentary deposits in calm or deep water, with the red hues created by iron oxide.
